🚤 Gorilla Ropes at the Saint-Malo Boat Show

A brand, a vision, a requirement

The first Saint-Malo boat show was an opportunity to meet enthusiasts, professionals, regatta sailors and curious boaters.
Thank you to everyone who visited the stand, who touched, compared, questioned and challenged.

Gorilla Ropes is a committed brand , born from practice, the field and a simple need:

🔧 Ropes… but not only that

At our stand, we presented the basis of our approach:
a French brand of technical ropes , designed for demanding sailors, from dinghies to cruisers.

Made in France , our ropes combine quality, durability and suitability for real uses.

🧵 Product focus: double HMPE braid + polyester sheath

An example of this approach?

Our double braid HMPE core / polyester sheath is a good example which offers excellent mechanical resistance , great lightness, and an intelligent price compromise.

Our HMPE is comparable to Dyneema® SK78:
✔️ Dyneema has slightly higher strength,
✔️ but in 95% of recreational uses, the difference is marginal .
We take responsibility for this technical choice: prioritizing useful performance, at the right price.

💬 But then, HMPE = Dyneema®

Not quite.

Dyneema ® is a registered trademark of a type of HMPE (High Modulus Polyethylene) fiber.

We use a generic HMPE, with performance close to Dyneema, but without the extra cost...

📈Result: equivalent strength, a thinner diameter than a 100% polyester rope, and a significant weight saving on board — without blowing your budget.

This show was above all an opportunity to meet passionate sailors, deck technicians, amateur racers and the curious .
